English in Australia & NZ
Australia and New Zealand offer a completely different environment in which to learn English. The continent offers incredible scenery, wildlife and nature reserves that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. You can enjoy long, unspoilt beaches and warm waters, visit the mysterious Outback, experience the unique climate of “four seasons in one day” of New Zealand or spend time in the modern and increasingly multicultural cities.
The varieties of English spoken in these countries have their origins in British English. Some Americanisms have been added over time due to the influence of the Americans in the 19th century Gold Rush and more recently because of American TV and popular culture. Australian English is relatively easy to understand and will form a good basis on which to communicate to native English speakers across the world.
Linguapop offers four destinations in this part of the world. Cairns on the North Coast of Australia is located next to the Great Barrier Reef and enjoys stunning beaches, mountain scenery and tropical forests. Perth on the West Coast is great for surfing, scuba diving and swimming in the crystal waters of the Indian Ocean, while Sydney boasts iconic modern architecture, a mild climate, great surfing beaches and a multi-cultural atmosphere. In New Zealand, Auckland mixes the best of beaches, watersports and mountain sports, as well as being a cultural capital.
As with all schools that are associated with Linguapop, these Eurocentres schools are accredited by the industry body in that country: NEAS in Australia and English New Zealand in Auckland certify that these schools are of the highest standard:
